Bunday Monday

A little Opie surgery update.

Its been 3 days since her abscess surgery and she looks so sad. Her face is half shaved off and stitched up but the good news is that my vet said she should recover really well b/c she was able to remove the whole abscess. Luckily it wasn’t a tooth infection so she was able to keep her tooth!

My vet is guessing she got stabbed by some sharp hay or sharp object on her cheek so the wound abscessed. Its a much better diagnosis than a tooth infection. I just wish she didn’t look so mad at me. She’s on some antibiotics and pain meds for 7 more days and if her sutures look good we can get them removed on the 14th. I am happy to report that she’s eating solid foods and hay again so thats always a good sign on the road to recovery.

Right now I have to keep her in a little pen and she absolutely HATES it. She’s use to having my apt as her “cage” so she’s not use to being in a little pen. Since she also has to wear a cone so that she doesn’t scratch at the sutures, its hard for her to eat, drink and clean herself so I know thats even more frustrating for her.

I am hoping that the next few days goes fast so she’s able to get out of the pen soon. (Sounds like she’s in jail huh? LOL)

Thanks for all the continued healing thoughts. Its much appreciated.

I hope Opie feels better soon! He is so cute, even with the big cone and the half-shaved face. Glad to hear he’ll be okay!

Poor bunny! At least the abscess is out and overall news is good. Our cats just hate those collar things too. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Awwww, what a sweet bunny! My DH and I had bunnies as pets when we first got married (we had one, he died and we got another). Both of them were litter box trained, had free reign of our apartment and even slept with us. I loved, loved, loved my bunny pets! So much personality. I hope your sweet one gets well soon! :)
