He: I don’t know why my bathroom gets so dusty. How do you keep your bathroom so clean?
She: I clean it.
He: Oh.
She: What? You thought there was a dust bunny fairy in a French maid uniform that comes to our house every day?
He: *looking hopeful*
She: No.
He: Oh.

… and I NEEEEEED it.
Although I admit I’m always wary of 1st generation technology.

The name reminds me of a feminine hygiene product. But maybe Apple isn’t as oblivious as I think. iPad has stirred up enough name controversial to be on Twitter trending topics. And you know what they say… There’s no such thing as bad press. (Anyone ever wonder who “they” actually is?)

King Arthur may be coming to a demo near you! Check out the schedule (here).
“Each 2-hour demonstration includes free recipes, and time to “talk baking” with the talented King Arthur staff – plus a chance to win some great baking-related door prizes!”
*eyes perk up*
OoOoh did they say prizes?? I’m SO there!
Anyone interested in doing Perfect Pies and Tarts on Thursday, March 11th in Anaheim with me?
* Thanks Nancy of The Dog Eats The Crumbs for the heads up!

Now that you all have had a chance to check out the new blog layout, I HAVE TO tell you who did it, how can you get it for your blog and most important (Am I right?)… how much does it cost?

Before and After
Wow. I feel like a damn infomercial. But I can’t help it! I’m really excited about this.
I’ve watched enough infomercials to know that the products that make me wanna pick up the phone (Are you holding up a finger phone to your ear? You totally are!) and dial the 800 number on the screen are the ones that sell themselves. The ones that speak to me. I think after seeing what Lindsay of Purr Design did for my blog, you can see what she can do for yours. Right now it’s still a work in progress. I need to upload thumbnails for my new archive gallery and reformat all my recipes with my cool new recipe plugin but it will be SO worth it when I’m done.

The great thing about Lindsay is that she’s a fellow food blogger too so she knew right away what I was going for with my blog with minimal explanations. I wanted what I’d seen on some of my favorite blogs: dedicated recipe area, print this recipe link, smooth layout for ads and favorite links, custom header, stats galore, custom color scheme, corresponding favicon and gravatar, help registering for own domain and set up self hosting etc. But other designers I talked with quoted me $300-$500. Now I don’t doubt their talent. I’m sure that they are well worth it but that was WAY out of my price range. Let’s get real. I’m not made of money. I’m not married to a rich rancher. No offense, Readers, you’re not worth it. This is just a hobby for me.
So when Lindsay approached me with a great budget solution that doesn’t sacrifice quality of design for price with her WPSousChef package option, I jumped on it and never looked back. She gave me everything I wanted and then some. You won’t find anyone more patient and more willing to take your ideas and turn them into blog-reality. I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had designing my blog with her. She really gave me my blog mojo back. Amazing what a little color can do around here! I’m just smitten with my kiwi heart.
At this point of the commercial you’re probably like me. HOW MUCH??
Ok Ok! I won’t keep you in suspense any longer. It says $125 for the ala mode package. But for a limited time, mention my blog and she’ll give it to you for double digits. $99. Huzzah!
Well… what are you waiting for? Do it. I double dog dare ya.
